Helen Hallowell reported that the Montg. County Holiday Exchange had 100 opportunities not yet taken for those needing Xmas cheer, & we voted to give the $9.00 still in our treasury for that good cause.

Mary Reading Miller gave a prayer of a Sioux Indian - “Great Spirit - help me not to judge others until I have walked for two weeks within his moccasins” -

Mary Magruder spoke of there being over 4800 acres in the District of Columbia with no buildings on them, & gave some strange surnames compiled by some one interested in collecting them -

Fanny Iddings read from “The Saturday Evening Post” of some contacts a Red Cross Nurse had made with the service men abroad.

Helen Farquhar’s article from Parents Magazine was a thoughtful one on training and developing a religious foundation.

Elizabeth Stabler gave a sentiment of Rufus Jones’ sent with the Xmas message from the American Friends Service Com.

Isaac Briggs, a well known resident of the neighborhood in the past & while few remembered him, some had heard of him & his sense of humor which is a marked characteristic of the Briggs family.

Helen Moore interested us in reading of the Divining Rod whose possibilities may go beyond locating water & may even be used in penetrating the human body. Deborah Wilsons selection was from Van Loom’s New Geography -

Mrs. Grey, a guest for the first time, expressed pleasure in meeting with us -

Elizabeth Ligon’s article by Eeric Johnson was a very comprehensive handling of the subject of management & Labor & how they should go hand in hand.

Grace Thomas - nothing.

Bertha Crum read a very interesting letter from her nephew telling of his visit in a private home in England when on leave.

Sally Janny told of the courageous work Virginius Dabney of the Richmond Va. Times Dispatch is doing in trying to improve the condition of race relations as they exist between the white and negro citizens.
