Mrs. Jane L. Stanford
Dear Madam:
Permit me to presume to extend to you this expression of sympathy, and, with it, my tribute of appreciation of the life and work of your dear husband wrought more especially into that great and beneficent legacy for posterity which bears the affectionate name of your dear son.
His work well done, the arms laid down,
He wears today a victor's crown -
One more is numbered with the blest,
Another servant is at rest.
It is my purpose, God willing, to attend the funeral services.
Very respectfully yours,
W.D. Williams
