It is exactly ten days since we
came – and it has been quite
uninterruptedly splendid weather
We are glad to shut the outer
shutters for an hour or two
at midday – but really it is very
pleasant – and I begin to feel
better now that I have rested
for I was quite over fatigued in
mind as well as body –
I have not yet got a cook!
but we have excellent dinners –
from the restaurant – which
are sent as in Rome & Florence
in a huge tin box with a little
pan of Charcoal to keep all hot
a woman hurrys the great box
on her head at the dinner hour
