My dear Bessie
I was delighted to receive your
kind note – and amused to think
of you at my old quarters at Barham
How sensible of James to go to the grammar
school - he was fully going to matriculate
there – I hope next time he will succeed
I wonder at yr Admitting him at the
Sydy university as you have the means to
give him old world experience – but
I quite understand the difficulty of
moving such a party & quite see
the wisdom of keeping Sib quiet till
she comes up to her growth.
She must be past my height –
some neighbours of mine have one
just that height at 12 yr of age. –
And have become quite strong -
Yr Aunt Eml always
told me that
the whole of her
Property left by
Sir H. goes to his
niece – she often
worries herself
about that I think
and I feel with
Lady McA. what
a pity she did
not settle things –
but you know how
very reticent she
always was –
