Gentn Your favour of the 16th Febry I received & observed the contents, due attention shall be paid to loading yr waggons the Tobo cannot get inspected to Day the weather being bad & the Inspectors not at the Warehouse, have marked it & shall have it turned up when the Inspectors come, & send you the weights by the first of yr waggons, I have no Molasses or [N?] rum at present, I go to Norfolk in a few Days where I will supply myself with these Articles if to be got on moderate Terms, they were of late both scarce & dearer than usual. I shall see & get at Norfolk the Articles for Mr. Johnston. I am just now informd by Mr. McNeill from Norfolk that Col. Nat. Terry & five more Accomplices was taken up in Pittsylvania County & sent down to Wmsburg Gaol they being detected in the fact of Stamping & signing the Types & a considerable sum of the counterfeit money being found in their Custody, if this news is true which is generally thought so, I wish they may meet with their Deserts. I have escaped without any loss by the new money, which I wish may be your case.

Esteemed Friend I recd thy favour pr Wm Oneill, & as Tobo. is very dull at present & have not allow’d more that 2d I shall let thy Hhd: lay ‘till those comes in perhaps it may be brisker in April. Inclos’d is my accot agt John Ross Bal: £17.19.6¼ there should be some Int upon it but I shall not stand for that if disputed, I was his security for the Fees of two or three suits he brot. in the Genl. Court & I expect there will still more tickets come agt me, If Jas. Bullock will pay the Balance of the accot. now inclos’d I will relinquish all my rights & Title to the Land which I expect must be done by some Instrument of Writing & Recorded in Court, If he will get one of your Lawyers to draw up what may be necessary I will Execute it & also pay the Charge
I shall take Care to forward the Letters for John Alston as Requested, There is a vessel for Glasgow which I expect will sail in about a week but I don’t remember her name.
