Clear & pleasant -- 72 deg -- Put up 2 half gallon Woodbury patent fruit jars, costing 2 bits each, full of [catauba] grapes in one and Muscat grapes in other -- Whole cost $1.10 -- Evening grand reception of the Carson lodge of AOUW by the lodges of this city and Gold Hill -- Procession with music through streets from RR depot -- they coming through in a special car, Seleet Knights 30 led off in full uniform -- Held exercises at Odd Fellows Hall -- Library, musical etc -- Bed at 3 -- Senator J P Jones arrived from Reno on special car at 11 tonight at Gold Hill -- Direct from Washington

same -- John W Mckay arrives this morning from San F -- Stewart Woodburn, Gov Adams & other big magnets, mining & political also came -- Big crowds of wire pullers, etc, all talking politics -- Bed at 3:30 -- I registered my name today as a voter in Storey county, once more, at Justice Kehoe's office -- I was No 1029 on the list --
