A pound of Butter, & pound of Flour,
A pound of Currents, ten Eggs, leave out
half W. Whites, three quarters of a pound
of Sugar, half a small Nutmeg & a little
Mace. Beat W. Butter in a large deep Pan
with your Hand ^one way till it comes to a Cream
then put in your Eggs well beat, Let your
flour be thoroughly dried & sifted with W.
Sugar, then put in your Currants & Spice, Mix
your Ingredients by degrees keeping it beating
all W. time, Let it stand a quarter of an
Hour at W. [Fire?] Before you put it in W. Oven
