Kalli Nuddi is 29.21 feet on a
length of 20000 feet or 3 miles 6 fur-
-longs and 290 feet, the total fall per
mile being ^[7.71 feet?]. To have completed
this line with properly regulated
slopes, and with the necessary
works for disposing of the super-

labor, and it would have occupied
the attention of the supervising
establishment, in a way that
would have led to interruption

line upon which more immediate
progress was indispensable. I

circumstances was quite a
legitimate one, and I have prac-
-tised it universally in all the
escape channels connected wioth
the Ganges Canal Works.

Instead, therefore, of carrying
