Dear Sir, We are now trying to put the list of Alabama claims in {ship} shape & desire to give as much detail as possible. Your memo. of the claims of the New Bedford Companies does not give the names of the vessels destroyed or in fact any particulars & we only have them on our books as follows Viz Commercial Material Inf . . . $120.669. Now what we want before we can go on is a detailed list from these companies & we will be obliged if you will get them for us as soon as possible, & we remain

Dear Sir, We have your favor of 17 Inst. - also your despatch of yesterday in regard to Butlers Bill.
After serving Mr. Beaman we telegraphed you that he would like to see you in Boston or N.B. tomorrow, N.B. preferred & your despatch in reply has been received saying you could meet him in Boston at 1/2 past twelve & he has replied to do so.
Mr. Beaman can explain the situation perfectly, & we remain
