Mr. Willm. Dawkins & Co.

Rapparannock Aug.27. 1732

Gentlemen,

The death of our father must needs call for a great degree of concern from that friendship which you allways [always] professed for him, tho' it comes far short of what we are affected with whilst we write of it: his affairs fall now under our management as execrs. [executors] of his will we think proper to give you this early notice and to acquaint you that no money is to be paid or goods sent but where the bills of exchange and invoice shall be signed by all of us.

By the first opportunity after next general court an Authentick [authentic] probat[e] (when the will shall be prov'd & recorded) shall be transmitted to you, in the mean time this letter is sufficient athority [authority] for you to pay such bills as we shall be oblig'd [obliged] in the manner our father directed a little before his death.

You have already had sufficient information of Mr. Falconars affairs and lest Mr. Barclay & the other execrs. [executors] should have recourse to their usual quibbles and delays we herewith send you a power of attorney to prosecute them for what is due to us and if itt [it] will facilitate your receiving the balance we are contented that Colonel Pages debt to them should be discounted. As this matter had before been put into your hands we were unwilling to send a power to any other person, but if there should be a refusal or delay in the case we desire that you will immediately imploy [employ] Mr. Randolph to bring suit against them.

Colonel Lewis Burwell haven [has] taken the management of his nephews affairs into his own hands, as surviving executor of his brothers will
