Added to Mr. Athawes Letter
Nov. 8. 1737.

I had almost forgot to tell you that I drew a Bill of Exch, dated October the sixth for eighteen pounds payable to [Mess. Foster Cunliffe & Samuel Powell Merch. of Liverpoole which I desire may be pd (paid?) & charg'd to my Brother George Carter. It was for a Negro sold to Stanhope his overseer at Rippon Hall. Mr. Wm. Camp pd (paid?) me twenty five [pod.?] Curf Money; and I writ to Mr. Robert Cary to pay my Broth twenty pd (pound) Sterl. in the room of it and afterwards Stanhope came to me to let me know he had not been pd [paid?] for his share of the Crop, and desired me to let him have a Negro which I could not refuse. So I hope my Brother will not take it amiss.
