Agreeable with my several letters for Insurance upon sixty hhds of Tob. by the Fauquier, I gave orders for that quantity to sloop sent round to Rappa. by Colo. Hunter, but I am since informed, that the (shippen?) has taken not much more than the half, it seems he had room for every Body's Tob & therefore left out part of mine however, I hope the Disappointment will not be very great, as I have just now heard of the safe arrival of the London Fleet among which, I expect you have a Ship By her, I desire you'll insure for me thirty hhds of Tob. to recieve ten Pounds & hhd clear, in case of loss & warranted to sail with Convoy, for I am determined not to insure upon any other terms as long as the War continues_ When the Bills of Loading for my Tob. in the Fauquier comes to hand, I shall inclose them to you, but at present am entirely in the dark abt it_ I am yr [illegibl]

Sir, Septemer 10th 1762

As I have desired Insurance upon the Fly by several opportunities, you have before this been informed of my intention to asist Thornton.

The Tob. now sent agreeable with the Bill of Loading is in general heavy & I hope such as will merit your approbation when produced at Market_ I have taken particular notice of your last Letter of the 3rd of March & much from the high Opinion I have of yr Integrity, think what you there say is truth, without further Information, tho' I really think my Tob. deserves as good a Price as others_ I parted with Thorton the other Day, who told me, he was quite full, or I would have [illegible] the other Ton for him, he would probably have been half way home by this time, had not an Embargo prevented him, which I understand, was laid on to keep the Trade together, for Convoy, That has been expected daily since June, so shall, I fear, not only the shippers, but owners also must be sufferers this year, in short this Colony has been strangely neglected, in not having the several Convoys, which were said to be appointed for our trade
