Milwaukee March 30th 1852

Dear Sir

I have your favor of 17th inst. The
Catalogues came along in due time for which
I am much obliged. My thanks are
also due for your offer of a copy of your
"Planta Wrightiana" and especially for the
honor of having a genus of plants called
after my name! If you can send the copy
intended for me to Mr. Wm. W. Allcott, my brother=
=in=law at the Suffolk Mills, E. Boston Wharf, or
to his residence at Cambridgeport I can get it;
for he is soon to make me a visit with his
family. He is the same who has recently
been presented a service of silver service etc. I hope
you will be able to send at the same time at
least one specimen of Laphamia.

As to what sort of things I want from
your garden I have only to say that any
things pf every cultivation and not already
profusely scattered over the whole country (among
horticulturalists) are is desirable. I hope you
will not however lay me under too heavy a much
responsibility in this respect. A small box
sent by express is all I should feel willing
to accept.-

Yours truly
I A L
