John Wood being duly Sworn according to law deposes
that in the month of May 1828 he Settled upon the West half
quarter Section described in the annexed application, that he has
Continued to reside upon Said half quarter from that time
to the present with his family that he commenced cultivation
upon Said half quarter Section in the year 1829 and has
Continued to cultivate on Said half quarter every year
Since that to the present time And further the deponent
Says, that he does not know of any discovery of lead on
upon Said half quarter Section that will warrant
digging ot labour therefor, And tho depondent further Says
that on the east half of the quarter Section on which he
Settled there is a valuable mineral ground that there have
been many holes Sunk upon the half quarter which he applies
for, but that Sufficient mineral has not been found to
warrant diggers or miners in provecating their labor
And that during the last three or four years there have
been no digging on Saif half quarter as he verily believes
Sworn to + Subscribed before me John mark his Wood
this 11 day of Aug 1835

Hugh R Gunter being Sqorn deposes, that he assisted
in Surveying and [running?] the lines of the half quarter
Section applied for by John Wood To With The West half
of the South East quarter of Section No 31 in [?]
No 5 of Range No 3 East that he has resided in the
vicinity of Said half quarter for more than one year +
that he is acquainted with the groind upon Said half quarter
and the deponent Says that in the month of January or
February 1835 Some mineral was foundd upon Said half
quarter that Since that time there have been Some holes
Sunk upon Said half quarter but the dept does
