INTRODUCTION

Your attention is called to the fact that this
Booklet is published for the purpose of placing
before our people political facts of interest to them;
the Republican party has seen fit to leave us out
of its deliberations.

The last Negro National Committeeman, Judson
Lyons, was also left off the Committee, leaving us
without a representative of any kind in deliberations
of the so-called Republican party.

Men change their policies, and change their
minds accordingly as they agree or disagre to such
changes; the Republican party has repudiated everything
so far as the black man is concerned.
They generally nominate the man who takes no
interest in our welfare but in nearly every case of
late years, they pick out the meanest man to be
found. Do you know Hughes’ record in New York
while governor so far as our people are concerned ?
Do you know how much recognition he gave the
colored people of that state? It will pay you to
learn all about Mr. Hughes.

Please bear in mind that a careful perusal of
the contents of this booklet will convince you that
our condition politically as a race, is a sad one.
Unless there is a change soon the Negro in politice
in this country will stand for nothing.

Therefore I beg of you to carefully read, weigh
and consider the contents herein. You will find
that every sentence is plain, and within the comprehension
of any one. READ it carefully for your
own INFORMATION.
