Office of the Light House Engineer
Thirteenth District
Portland, Oregon
August 2, 1871

Rear Admiral W. B. Shubrick

Chairman Light House Board
Washington, D.C.

Sir:

I have the honor to state that letter of July 10 from Light House Board says that Commissioner of Customs has been requested to remit to me for new light house at Punta Arenas, Cal. $11,000
Cape Foulweather Light Station - $5,000

Total: $16,000

I have received from Commissioner of Customs an official notice respecting the money for Punta Arenas L.H. and July 29 received the $11,000 but have heard nothing of the money for Cape Foulweather Light Station.

I have the honor to request that the $5,000 for Cape Foulweather be placed to my credit with the U.S. Asst. Treasurer in San Francisco, Cal.
