To his excellency Andrew B. Moore governor of the State of Alabama whereas one Elijah R. Murphee a convict in the penitentiary of the State of Alabama having a wife (&)? five helpless chindred & his family being in very indigent circumstances & also that said family had to depend solely upon the *labour* laber of said Murphee for a support & beliving said Murphee has been furnished sufiacntly for the charge aledged as he was confined in jaile for near two years before his confinement in the penitentiary & knowing the helpless situation of his wife& children
