Dear sir I understand that W^m Perry the State Superintendant of public schools intends resining his office and in that event it will Devolve uppon you to fill his vacancy until the meeting of the Legislator. I have concluded to suggest the name of Judge Jefferson Falkner of Chambers County for your consideration Judge Falkner I think possesses that kind of talents that would inable him to make a good office & I have no doubt if he should get the office that he will discharge the duties of it faithfully I am yours with Respect &c J.
