Status: Needs Review

in pamphlet form (?) (those?)
troops of Alabama if no further as
[members?] of your inaugurial
address that they read again (those?)
reasons why we of the south have
drawn this sword. Soldiers have but
little to read and they (taulk?) a
good deal about the cause of the
war and not a little with the
conscripted recruits. we think your
inaugurial or (last?) book of southern
principles & choose to circulate it in
place of any other thing of the kind we
know. The Secretary of state has not
sent any [?] here yet & if you can
concur with us we would like to
have a goodly number of coppies for
distribution. many of our officers
of the rank of Colonel think alabama
should make an effort with state
forces to clear the state of the enemy
in the northern counties at an early
period & further say that no battle
has been fought in this war yet by state
forces of any over state of the confed
eration Respectfully
Your servant
