Talbot County Ga. Aug. 31st 1862.

My dear Uncle

Please accept my profound thanks for your very welcomeletter received a few days ago informing me of brother Dick's sickness. I was truly glad to know that he was improving. How glad I was to know that he was with you, where I was confident that every attention would be paid him that was necessary.

I would be delighted to see my dear brother but fear I will not be afforded that great pleasure soon. Do you think there will be any chance for him to get a furlough? I have been looking for him a long time.

Brother Tom is now stationed at Wilson N. Carolina. He belongs to a [Goreville?] Company. The regiment is commanded by Col. Clairborne. Brother John 's regiment has left their camp of instruction. I have not heard yet where they will be stationed.

Brother [Wm,.?] is yet at home. He has been

very sick, but is now a great deal better His health is very bad. I received a letter from Uncle Linton last week. I was very sorry indeed to hear that he was afflicted with rheumatism. I dont think that he ought to go back to the army any more. Geny and myself just got home last week from Opelika Ala. from a visit to our Cousin Richard John. He came home with us and stayed a week. He was very anxious indeed to see brother Dick. I never enjoyed a visit more in my life. Cousin Richard expressed a great desire to see you and Uncle Linton.

Uncle Alex please let me know if brother Dick is yet with you. Tell him that I say please try to get a furlough and come to see me. How is cousin John Stephens?

Please write often to me my dear Uncle for I am always glad to hear from you.

All of the family are well. Your affec. niece Molly L. Greer
