Dear Sister:-
It is about the middle
of the forenoon, and it certainly seems
cozy to sit here in a 'chair' beside my
bed and look out of the window at
the storm and gale. It has been
very stormy lately, equinoctial gales I
suppose.
I have just finished a letter to Pearl
Stanley: I had not written to Pearl for
about four months. I wrote yesterday
evening to Dave Radcliffe, although I
do not know where he is. My mail has
not reached me from the battallion yet
and may not for a week or so. I wrote
to mother two or three days ago, and to
Jessie a few days before that when I was
at the Royal Herbert Hospital at Woolwich.
I wrote to mother a week before that from
the 22nd Gen Hosp, France.
I have come across about half a
dozen of the boys from A. Coy. of the 4th, who
