McFarland-Russell Letter, July 9, 1880
Biographical Note: Both the McFarland and the Russell families have their roots in early East Texas. In 1871, the two families came together with the marriage of Robert Everett Russell (b. Oct. 10, 1847, d. May 24, 1922) and Catherine Christine McFarland (b. July 2, 1849, d. Oct. 17, 1888), the daughter of Thomas S. McFarland. Description: From R.C. McFarland to R.E. Russell. Mr. McFarland writes about family and friends. He discusses the progress and growth of his children. He talks about being busy with the yard work, fish fries, and visiting friends. He also writes about plans for selling a cow and a debt that is owed.
