Tigers Drop First Game
Dunbar's Tigers dropped their first game of the year here Saturday night with a 14-0 loss to the defending state champion Baytown Buccaneers. Fumbles played a major role in the contest as the Dunbar crew lost the ball five times due to slippery fingers while Baytown lost control of the pigskin on four occasions. Isach Hart dashed 85 yards in the initial quarter for the first tally of the evening. The try for the extra point was good and Baytown jumped into a 7-0 advantage. In the fourth stanza Preston Anders lofted a 26-yard aerial to

Josephus Felder for the second and final marker of the evening. Again the try for the extra point was good. Dunbar drove to the 12-yard line in the fourth period, but lost possession via the fumble route. Another outstanding play came when Hollis Walton blocked a Baytown punt on the 11. Carl Taylor set the pace for Dunbar with a pair of 15 yard dashes and one for 13, but the effort proved to be fatal as the Baytown forward wall refused to budge in the paydirt country. Cottrell Allen recovered one fumble on the 50 and the Tigers drove to the 27.

Ace quarterback Ligones hit Carl Taylor for a 2 point conversion to give the Tigers a comfortable 29-0 lead.
