received through the International Red Cross stated that the aircraft had crashed near Maastricht, and that Pilot Officer Frankish, together with the other members of the crew, was buried near Diepenbeek, in Holland. His death was officially presumed to have occurred on the 12th May 1940.

On the cessation of hositilties his body was re-interred in the Bourg Leopold British Military Cemetery.
