Stanton Green was born at Frankton Junction on the 3rd December 1923 and was educated at Hamilton Technical High School. He was interested in tennis. He was employed by the International Harvesting Coy., Auckland and the Farmers Co-op, Auctioneering Coy., Hamilton until he entered camp in the Army in August 1941.
He applied for entry into the Air Force in January 1942 for training as a pilot. In January 1943 he was transferred from the Army to the Air Force, entering camp at Omaka. After completing his ground training at Omaka and Hamilton he was posted to Initial Training Wing, Rotorua in June 1943. He commenced flying at No. 1 Elementary Flying Training School, Taieri in August, making his first solo flight on September 2, and in October proceeded to Canada for training under the Empire Air Training Scheme. On arrival he reported at No. 6 Service Flying Training School, Dunnville, Ontario and commenced further training on Harvard aircraft in December 1943.
On the 16th February 1944 LAC Green was pilot of a Harvard engaged on night flying exercises. While approaching the aerodrome to land, his aircraft struck the ground, LAC Green losing his life. He is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Dunnville, Ontario.
