1846 March 1st. Prayer meeting day at
Strait Stone. M. H.- I did not go
The Trees this day hanging with Icicles
^{clear & cloudy} a Dreadful day - real winter, In the
evening it commenced Hailing, & continues
on - in the night lost 3 Lambs, such a
continuation of cold freezing I never saw
in my life, wind blows from the East —

March 2 Monday. Hailed & the wind blew
hard all night one of the most Disagreeable
nights I ever saw or felt - this morning
it stoped hailing & commenced snowing
& the largest flakes of Snow ever seen
by me, we are doing but little to
day Rained & freezed Saturday Sunday &
night Hailed Monday still snowing & the
wind whistling Dreadful on
stock of every description 1846
Real Hail & snow storm, snow & Hail
where its drifting Two or 3 feet Deep weather
stop falling about 12 oclock we have not
seen the sun for about 4 days, wind blows
very hard & cold from N. E. trees yet hanging
with Icicles, not any thing done in our Garden

3rd March. Weather cleared off & Hail
& snow melting smartly pretty morning
over head under foot very bad ——
making Baskets shelling corn spinning etc.

4 March Still winter weather finishing
Baskets & then we are going to clean out
stables, going to mill shucking corn
