1852 augt 23rd Still cloudy & like for Rain
did Rain Evening & in the night –
worming fresh ground Tobacco this morning
Halling Rocks & shrubing Corn ground If
it does not Rain —Rained some but not much to day —
Sent a letter by Mr EG Lewis morning to Colo
Smith for Mrs McCullocks money for 2 Hhd Fodder
My wife gone to Mrs Hunts. Jacob & Jerry yesterday

24th Rained several times yesterday nearly
all night last night & Raining to day —
we are spining making Baskets etc etc
my wife not come home yet 10 Oclock
Halled 3 Loads Rocks & Beet some cider

25 Still cloudy & misting Rain, worming
& succoring Tobacco Beeting out flax seed.

26 Succoring & toping Tobacco, finished over this way
& now Toping over, cleared off fine weather

27 Raining most all day to day — spining etc

28. Rained very hard all night & this morning
very hard water courses very high, I expect
there is a great freshet in River —
spining making Baskets etc etc - sent to Mr
James P. Lewis for my sack allum salt

29th I went to Wm B Banks Funeral Preached by
Mr Scott at st andrews Fair pretty day ——

30th Fair Beautiful day little cool fixing
Bridge at Spring sent to Mill this morning
6 Bus wheat & 2½ Corn & Sent wheat once before
10 Bushels in all for Horses negroes & flour & think
sent 7 or 9 Bushels before to eat —
worming & toping Tobacco this morning
Jacob gone after Cate to day

31st Cutt a little Tobacco out new ground worming
succoring & toping tobacco went on Staunton to
Rent Mrs Clements childrens Land –

Sept 1st Pulled Fodder by Garden succoring Fresh
ground Tobacco Toping in Lot - Halling Rocks
Mr Walkup takes Mr Hendricks place in Teaching
School this day - clear fine weather
