August 29, 1851 - September 12, 1851

Augt 29th my wife going to Mr Fitzgeralds to day
I made a Bargain with Mr Johnson Farmer
to do carpintinters work for me getting shingles
& fixing carriage & Ice House at 3/- pr day

Sept 1st clear & warm finished this day working
our fresh ground Tobacco, Toping & worming &
succoring too & this evening working out Garden
Henry working all day on new Barn -
overseer made Jacobs shoes & also last
week Sallies & Jerrys – –

3rd began to Pull fodder a little yesterday
Daubing & fixing Barns, Owen gone - Henry
sick clear & fair I went this evening to Mrs C. JF.to Mr F AW. &
gone home by 9 Ocl

4 cloudy & like for Rain, Henry in house yet
Toping at from 5 to 8 leaves worming & succorig
over at this time - etc I am going to Mrs McC
to day after Kate she has been there several days

7th Fixing to day scaffolds drawing shingles
going to machine attending to fodder etc
Mrs McC wool weighs gross 43 lbs cloudy
& like for Rain

9th covered shop & Barn worming & succored Tobacco
at home at Mrs McC I expected they were fanning
wheat, went up there to measure etc & behold
they were at work on their carriage House

10th Pulling fodder here ^ ^in fresh field-& there fair & clear

11th Jobing this morning, then Pulled
down mountain field fodder got
adone little after 12 Oclock, worming
& succoring Tobacco over there gathering
Peas spreading flax Tying up fresh
field fodder in evening —

12 Pulled fodder at old House place at stony
point
worming succoring & toping & Tying
up Our Blade in evening — I am sick
Mrs Hunt went home this morning
