1858 July 2nd Cutting Oats at Stoney pint to
day = Halled up Load or stack Fodder
This morning – Fodder prime

3rd Cutting Oats this day finished at stoneypint
Cutting up at Chumbleys, fine growing weather

4th Went to Sunday School - good

5th Cutting Oats at mountain this morning
Fine weather; a little cooler Mr Lain came
this morning to set up Hhds to prize Tobacco

6th Rose had a Mule Colt Last night
which we call Tom,- Finished Weeding freshTobacco
ground Tobacco at Chumblys, Mr Lain here yet
& has Set up 4 Hhds Plowing & Laying by Corn
next to orchard Fine weather ———

7th July Sent to Mill this morning 3 Turns 6 Bushels
corn for ourselves, 3 Bushels corn for overseer & 2½
Bushels wheat for him; Plowing Tobacco at mountain
Hilling up Tobacco at Johns’s Branch,- to day
Mr Lain finished yesterday & gone paid him for
his work Turned quite cool day before yester=
=day 5th Inst,- Turned warm – again

8th Hilling up Fresh ground Tobacco at mountain
Laying by corn next to orchard, Smart
shower of Rain this evening.

9th Hilling up Fresh ground Tobacco at mountain
Laying by corn Plowing Rose till 12 Oclock
Cloudy & warm this morning - not done
choping Cotton Yet – – –
Weighed Out for negroes to Eat this day
108½ lb Bacon, to see how long it will last
will begin on it to morrow being the
10th day of July 1858 -. Plowed Rose to day
her Colt improves very much fine weather
expect to Finish Hilling fresh ground Tobacco
at mountain this evening
