9th I went to Post office & aspen Grove
What somewhat Injured [sproalld?/sprawled?] a little
here & there, getting sills for corn House
began to Plow sugar Kane & Peas etc

10th. Pulled up flax working sugar Kane
Plowing corn etc & garden
Henry son Henry claiborne & smith got out
40 lb Bacon to last till 10th augt next.

Vixburg fell 4th July 1863. Lee & his Army
is in Maryland and Pennsylvania –
Plowed out Garden choped corn in fresh ground
& began to hall up wheat Kitty working in Garden

11 went to meeting S S. Mr H. few there

12 went to meeting. got home in evening & I think
a tremendous Rain fell here Rained nearly all night

13 Every break[?] & creek is overflowing & some ours
what gone on the Creek, water all over the corn
Bridges branches & Creeks very full all water gates or [?]gone
It has been raining of[f] & on for near 3 weeks. Wheat
spiling [spoiling?] very much Oats & Corn down on the ground

14. Rained nearly all night cloudy this morning
setting corn on Creek sent claiborne to help Mr
Keen fix his mill dam which was broke -

15th. began to Oats to day Harriet at work here

16th. Jere Bot him a Horse some days ago of
Philips $530. & started back to the Army this evening
Joseph Whitehead & Jno Lewis with him, cloudy
& like for Rain cutting some Oats this evening
Rained hard this evening

17th. Hewing Corn House sills etc. Raining again
& has been for 3 or 4 weeks dreadfull time on
wheat Oats & every think else wheat Injured
very much my wife & Sallie when [went] with Jere yesterday
up to Kate S Moses, Dreadfull time indeed

18. 19 We were trying to do something but not much raining

20. I went to CH Mr Hunt & myself on Sunday did not rain
