There is a word or abbreviation that looks like "a long-s c" in the entries for January 3 and February 26, 1827 which I cannot read. (See also problems in entries for February 22 1826.)

I have seen this several times: a/c, which I believe is "account," as in "cash account." Also, it took me a long time to decipher what I know understand to be "pRect," for "per Receipt."
