A beautiful day. Very colde. Ben staid about home all day. The children has had a good day playing with their toys. Josie has a colde. Some better to day. I have spent the day at work. I got breakfast, milked the cows, fed the calf, killed dressed two chickens, cooked one. Boiled a ham, churned and beat up the butter, fixed up another churning and set it by the fire. Made some custard. Josie beat the whites of the eggs for me. Fed and watered the calf. Brought two buckets of water. Carrie gave me a nice box of stationary. Reese gave me a box of candy. Josie gave me a nice box of stationary. I got three cards. I was glad.

Carrie had a good dinner. Heard today that Mrs Allen died last night. She had bin sick a long time. I have not seen any of the Blairs or Harvey or Reynols yet this Xmas. Hopeful some of them will come yet. I would like to see all of my children if I could.
