A rainy morning. Ben had his car loaded ready to go to Gretna. Did not go until this evening. He went and come before sundown. He was pleased with the sales. Jim and John stripped tobacco all day. I sewed a little. Cooked three time and washed dishes and churned. I make all sorts of mistakes such as cross the wrong letter. The tobacco that Ben carried off today was mine and Johns. I was very glad to get my part of the advance. Mabel has bin cross part of the day. She is not well. The children went to school. Did not get wet much.

A good day. The men stripped tobacco all day. I got dinner. Then Henry and Franklin and I went to Gretna. We done some shopping. Then went to see Carrie a little while. Found them well enough to be about. I was glad of that. We got home in good time to get water and wood and get supper. Henry drove the car very good I thought. I am so glad that he can drive the car. I hope that nothing wont happen to make me afraid.

A good day. We all staid at home except Henry. He went in [camel?]. some where we don't know where. Carrie and the children come to see us. I was so glad to see them. Carrie helped me get dinner. She said that Marvin was not well. I do hope he may soon be well. They think they have a hard time and they do in some ways but if any thing sould[sic] happen to Marvin serious then they would see a hard time shure[sic]. Jim and Ben caught a squirel this evening and put him in a cage. Will try to tame him.
