June 12, 1945

Dear Mother:

I should have written more
often these last two weeks but
as I said in my last letter I am
resting up and taking full advantage
of it. I am not getting this rest
because of any personal injury. I
am fine and nothing has happened
to me. As I told you in my
last letter last week I spent
at a rifle range and had a great
time. Did not fire well at all
but got lots of rest and put on
some weight. Day after I got back
from there I went out again for four
days to another wonderful place.

Just got back this morning. Had
more fun, more rest and picked up
more weight. Will be sending along
some pictures soon to prove it.

Now we come to the less
pleasant side of this letter. I
