Dear Mother:
Well here I am again. Have three letters from you in the last few days. First for the big question, I don't know as yet when I am getting off. I doubt if I'll be home for Thanksgiving but I may make it for Xmas. Don't count too much on it though.
As I said in my last letter I have heard from Dad, I am sure it was not he that Ida saw in B'Klyn. I'll keep you informed of everything I find out. He can no doubt get the same type insurance we get while he is over there.

I had a letter from Frank Poje yesterday. He is fine but wants to get home. Doesn't expect to be able to until next year. Have not heard from anyone else. Do not know why [??] Lane is in the hospital. You did not send his address. Have had a couple letters from Marion. Have not decided what to do as yet. The way things look here I no doubt could bring home a bride with no trouble at all. I have never seen so many girls in one town. We are really having one hell of a time these days.

we have hit in a long time where we can get all the fresh milk and fruits we want.
Steaks are also plentyful and very cheap. I haven't done any sightseeing as we only get ashore in the evening. I am enclosing something which might interest you. I'll write more about the place as I get around.
Hope everyone at home is well. I have a few letters from Anna which I'll answer in a day or two. I did not mean to write a horror story when I told you about the last hit we got. I don't like people to think I enjoy that stuff or like telling
