Dear Mother:

I have just recieved your letter of the thirtieth. I am so glad you got all that information from Washington. It was just a month ago today. As I said in my letter,s which should have reached you by this time, I am up and around again and I was never in a hospital. We have good doctors aboard ship. When I say I am up and around again I don't mean that I was confined to bed. I was on light duty for awhile.

Glad to hear Frank Poje was in to see you. Just between you and me Mom if he is going where I think he is, you had better say a few prayers for him too. I had a letter from John Poje and one from Lane and also one from Frank. He sent it from North Carolina.

Looking over your letter again I find some questions to answer. As yet I have not recieved your letter with Grandpop's note in it. Nor have I recieved your Xmas packages. They should be along soon though. You ask for some information as to what happened. Will you get some from Headquarters. All I can

say is that the Japs dropped something and it went off too close to me. When I think back to it I realize it could have been much worse. I know that the Lord was with me that night. Just a few small pieces hit me, the big ones missed.

Well Mom that seems to be all for tonight. I'll write soon again. And I'll write Anna and Al tomorrow. Give my love to all.

Your loving son Georgie
