Dear Mother:

I have just recieved your letter
of the thirtieth. I am so glad you got
all that information from Washington.
It was just a month ago today. As I
said in my letter,s which should have
reached you by this time, I am up and
around again and I was never in a hospital.
We have good doctors aboard ship. When
I say I am up and around again I don't mean
that I was confined to bed. I was on light
duty for awhile.

Glad to hear Frank Poje was in to
see you. Just between you and me Mom
if he is going where I think he is, you
had better say a few prayers for him too.
I had a letter from John Poje and one from Lane
and also one from Frank. He sent it from
North Carolina.

Looking over your letter again I find some
questions to answer. As yet I have not recieved
your letter with Grandpop's note in it. Nor
have I recieved your Xmas packages. They
should be along soon though. You ask for
some information as to what happened. Will
you get some from Headquarters. All I can
