hence we have some allowance to make for
badly prepared Boys. Our entrance examinations are
however stricter than almost any I know. As I
have got on the 'brag' I will go on to say that our
Course on the 'Physical Sciences' is as full or
fuller than any College South (The University
excepted of Course). We have throughout the year
form lectures a week on Chemistry - Two - on Geology
Two on Astronomy & seven on "Mechanical philosophy
Heat & optics - Meteorology, But I won't brag any more.
Have you seen the Southern University [illegible]
It makes grand promises - so you ought to keep
your eyes wide open in old Sleepy Hollow as
difficult ast it may be to do so. In your department
there will be a career open for many
