Hi Lisa, the third line is, "Yhere is thus" which "Yhere" is a Scotts spelling of "There" used at the time. It is an interesting linguistical note.

@LisaCarper all of those guesses look correct. And a "spring" is an invisible line where and the curve of an arch starts. So below the spring line is a rectangular opening and above is the half-circular arch opening.
