Huntington.

A. C. P. Huntington was in New York a
part of the time between the time I was
informed of the probable commencement
of these suits and the time of the settle-
ment. But where he was at the time of the
settlement, I am not able to state now;
whether he had been out here just before,
or whether he had been just after; I don't
know; yet it seems to me as though
I had a personal interview with him
somewhere about that time; but I can
not recall it to mind. But he did
not take part in the settlement
certainly. He was not here in San
Francisco at the time.

Q. 12. Was he in this State at the time?

A. I think not.

Q. 13. Do you recollect at about what
time the settlement was made, if
it was in 1869 or 70 and in what
time of the year?

A. It was in the summer season, I am
sure: during the warm weather: I
think it was in 1870.

made the settlement with Lombard[Lambard]
party if you had known
