the principal work that is down here is mining & that is just the worst business a man can go at in this country now my father inlaw says the best thing that a man can do now in this country is for him to take up a little peace of ground & raise a garden & 200 or 300 chickens & sell there eggs & to plant out 60 or 100 peach trees he thinks this is the best thing to do. he says that the people who come here now will haf to bring there [writing?] along with them & stay a while I cannot advise you to come here but if you come here why I would be glad to see you & I will give you all of the information that I can if I am here when you com that is if you do. but here is my addvise to you to get anough money to take you back home go home as soon as you can for you know that you can make a living, for then some how there you will no doubt hate to go back without making something but just consider the matter over this way why you might as well go back now without anything as to work
