the rivers. Thare [there] is flats formed on the angles and
thare [there] is gold more or less found on all of them.
The main land ceams [seems] to run north and south
a cross [across] the rivers in this part of the cuntry [country]
Thare [there] is extencive [extensive] digens [diggens] found on this N [North]
and S [South] range from the American river to
the feather river and it ranges from
eight to teen [ten] miles wide when you are
traveling from one river to another it is
strate [straight] up one side and the same down the
other grate [great] hills I tell you so steep that
it is but few places a mule can get up
or down the face of those tremendous
hills are all cut up with gulches between them.
Thare [there] is long points make out on. These are
the trales [trails] wich [which] lead down to the rivers
a bout [about] two thirds of the way up. Those points
thare [there] is flats witch [which] jineraly [generally] have good digens [diggens]
in them and thare [there] is a little town built
on them on the South Side of this river.
Thare [there] is Snow point orleans flat moores
flat
and woolseys flat. North side
American hill Minnesota, Chipses Smiths
flat
and Forest City, all little towns wich [which]
have been built up this last too [two] or thre [three] years.
