otherwise, than in a fair and honorable
manner, and I hope that I shall be able
so to conduct my business affairs, that I shall
never feel, the necessity of being obliged to
pay my creditors any less, than what I
honestly owe them. I believe that so far I
have dealt honorably with all men.

My credit is good, and I intend so to
use it, as not to abuse it
-- I seldom buy on
credit or borrow money, although I sometimes
do both, I now owe Mr Tucker somewhere
from $300. to $500. which I am prepared
to pay at any time, when he says he wants
it. I shall order no more goods from him
at present, and shall buy but few of any
one until I see what kind of an arrangement

next summer --

Give my love if you please to Aunt Lewis
and Cousin Mary F., also to Uncle Bradley
and family, I suppose Aunt Betsey is now
a member of Mr Babbidge Jrs church, and I
hope she will be pleased with her new
attachment for the church, and Christianity --

Much love from your affct [affectionate] Son
H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker]
