Then again from what you have
written me from time to time about Mr
Lewis and his family I conclude that you
find them to be kind pleasant neighbors
and good friends, if so, were they to
move away you would of course miss
them very much even if their place were
to be filled with other people, so for
your sake I hope they will remain.

Charles will like to have them remain
too I guess, for I think he likes Mr L.
very much as you say he is stopping
with him most of the time in the Store
and I do not think Mr L. can help
liking C. also, as I expect he is very
steady, trusty, and capable, which is
just the kind of boy wanted in a
Store. Perhaps you will want him to
go into a dry goods store bye and bye
where you seem to wish that I had
remained instead of leaving and finally
coming out here. But who knows but what
the course I have pursued, I might say
