Dear Mother,

Your welcome letter dated
Feby [February] 15th was received the 17th inst -- the
day after the mails left here for the
Atlantic States. I was very happy
to hear that you and Harriet were
quite well and that Charles was
improving so fast, hope you are all
quite well
at the present time --

I was very much pleased with
the letter that sis wrote me, and I
hope she will find it convenient
to write me quite often as I should
be glad to receive a letter from her
at any and all times. I think she
has improved her handwriting very
much since she wrote me before, and
I rather expect she is getting to be
quite smart in every respect ---

I hope she will enjoy good health
through the coming summer and be
able to attend to her studies, and
music as closely as she wishes to
You and she seem to like Mr & Mrs Blunz
very well --
