Trade for a week past has been
rather dull until today, when it has
been quite good, but take it all round
I think we are doing as well in proportion
as the majority of folks, as all are com-
plaining of dull times, since the Bankers
have all failed, but I look for a better
state of trade in the course of a month
or two. The Schooners are not doing
much just at the present time ---
I am glad that you received
our miniatures safely and liked them
so well. I had always written you when
speaking of myself that I had not
changed much, and I see you are
willing to acknowledge it yourself now
I hope you have grown old no
faster than I have, and I have an
idea that you have changed but little
I think that Harriet has changed
more than any of the rest of us during
the past three years. Children at her
age usually do change very much
every year. Charles has altered
somewhat (judging from his miniature)
but not enough, so but what anyone
who had ever seen him would know him,
now
