My Dear Mother,

This is a dull
rainy evening, but as I am writing home
the time, with me will pass pleasantly.

I am quite well this evening and
have been attending to my business through-
out the day, the same as I usually do ---

I hope you are all well also, and
able to attend to your work, and be about
the same as you have been through
the winter ---

I received your letter of March 1st
last night at 10 O'clock in just four
weeks after you first commenced it ---

I was happy to hear that you
were all well, and that you had
stood the cold weather throughout the
winter so well. At the present time
I suppose you are having quite warn
pleasant weather, or at least soon
will have, as the month of April is
near at hand. We have had warm
pleasant weather, here the past week
but today has been cloudy and tonight it
commenced raining
