Nov 4th Sunday. Your kind letter dated Oct 2d was recd. [received]
the 30th. I was happy to again hear that you are all
enjoying good health, and getting along so nicely with
your farm work, and business of all kinds --

I also received a letter from Miss Lewis and one
from J. A. Tucker, also a paper from Charles, enclosing
a Notice of the "Annual Meeting of the Pepperell Farmer's
and Mechanics Club" which I have pasted on the
ceiling just over the head of my bed. I dare say
they had a fine time at their fair, and I should
have been glad to have been there, and seen all
the good things that were displayed. Another year
I may be "around. I am as well today as usual.

Mr Noyes [Ephraim Noyes] is also well. I am glad that you
feel so well pleased with my miniature for
I believe it is a natural one, at least my friends
here said it was "a perfect likeness"

I rather expect to receive Mr Tucker's miniature
by next mail as he has been talking about send-
ing it to me for a long time, and in his last
letter said he should send it soon --

I think from what you write about Mrs Jocelyn
Chandler, that her prospects for the future, are
not as bright as they were before she was married
but perhaps she does as well as she would if she
had waited longer. I should like to see Edward
Parker very well, also Mr J. A. Jewett. My regards to
them when you see them. Give my love to C. [Charles] & H. [Harriet] and
tell them to write me whenever convenient.

You of course will write me often, and I shall
write you by every mail.
