Last Thursday, was Thanksgiving in This
State as well as in Massachusetts.

You, no doubt enjoyed the day, and
partook of a nice Thanksgiving dinner
such an one, as I was wont to sit down
to, while at home. I as usual, kept my
stand open, all day. -- received letters from
home, which was more acceptable than
a good dinner. After closing up I
set down to a common dinner the same
as I usually eat. I was invited to dine
at "Hillmans Temperance House" but de-
clined the invitation. The "Rail Road House"
furnished a nice dinner for $1.00 to all
who wished to partake of a New England Dinner.

It consisted of Turkies [Turkeys], Chickens, Puddings
Pies, Ice Creams, &c. Mr Noyes [Ephraim Noyes] took dinner with
some friends of his, and I think enjoyed
himself well. I am in hopes we shall
eat our next Thanksgiving dinner from
the same Table. Circumstances must decide
the matter. I felt a sort of homesickness, but
felt thankful, that I was enjoying good health
and to know that you were all alive and
comfortably well at the time you wrote.

Please give my love to Chas. [Charles] & Harriet and
encourage them to write me whenever they can
do so.
Your loving Son
H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker]
