Thursday 26th Apl [April]

The Mail closes to morrow [tomorrow] so I thought it would
be no harm to let you know we are well and
Every prospect of being so. Little Mary is one
of the healthyiest [healthiest] and strongest children I ever
saw. She is remarked by every body [everybody] that sees her
and she goes by the name of the fat baby she
walks well and has the most of her teeth cut she
has just cut her eye and stomach teeth she had
no sickness with them.

Young Vegetables are as plenty here now as they
are with you in july [July] radishes cabbage turnups [turnips] onions
and I think I may include Potatoes and Peas.
here is a head of wild oats that is groving [growing] on the
hill sides here and we have had one of the warmest
winters I ever saw there has been ice but two nights all
the winter and that like window glass.

The Mail Steamer is now due at San Francisco
by her I expect a letter from Mary if I get it
I will Write again for the Mail of the 15th of next
month.

We get the New York Herald a Tribune every
Week so we are pretty well posted in news matters
but I never see a [an] Albany paper I would be very much
obliged for a Knickerbocker once in a While.
